Meeting Notes 4/07 Steering committee meeting, April 7, 2004 Attending were Eric Wahl, Steve Goldberg, Desiree Schmitt, Steve Finegold, Marianne Ludwig, Doug Copeland We have installed wifi at the Southside and are waiting for the DSL line before installing Civilization's equipment. Cling-on signs are in the works thru SCK Design. We've purchased one power supply for the laptops and will order more if we're satisfied. Tech Soup has shipped our limit of 3 access packages (thru TWDC), but as of June 30, we can order 3 more for the next fiscal year. Plans are progressing for wifi at Lincoln Park. We will install access points at the gazebo and poolhouse. Phone and electric will be available at both; the equipment will be around $2000 plus DSL. We will install the poolhouse first and determine coverage before deciding gazebo configuration. Marianne is working on financing thru various sources. TWiFi will explore applying for two upcoming grants; Neighborhood Connections (in August) and Civic Innovation Lab grant (up to $30,000). The latter would require a "bold step" such as complete wifi for a major section of Tremont, etc. We are also planning fundraisers ( one per month) at Edison's, Southside, Civilization, and Lucky's.
