Wildcats getting rowdy before a big game.

The St. Ignatius Varsity baseball sqaud has their goal of a state championship right at their fingertips. With wins over Cleveland South, Midpark, and Garfield Heights, the baseball team is inching closer to the state finals. With the senior leadership of Brian Hoyer, Jeff Deighton, and Greg “I can’t make an out” Feltes, the Wildcat’s top of the order continues to produce runs. Help from Seniors Jason Adamchik, Mike Chmelik, and junior Jeremy Farell, the Wildcats have totaled 34 runs in three playoff games. This offense could not be complete without the legs of junior Kevin Murphy. This base running specialist has contributed to many of the Wildcats’ runs. This offense however is complimented by a sound defensive game. Senior Juice Kedzior continues to bring crowds to their feet with his willingness to risk his body for the out. Senior Brent Decoster has pitched flawlessly this year with a record of 6-0. The St. Ignatius pitching staff from seniors John Krol, Alex Janez, and Andrew Lobas to juniors Chris Rigo iand Mark Ogrinc, the wildcats don’t seem to have any problems finding ways to win games. This team has one goal in mind and they won’t slow down until the State Championship is brought back to St. Ignatius.
