Ignatius Men Serve God and Others
By Patrick Moroney

While you are begrudgingly rolling out of bed at about 2 PM, playing thirty-six holes of golf, or perhaps watching the Tribe’s bullpen blow another game, forty-two Ignatius students and ten chaperones will be traveling throughout North and South America in service of others. After in-depth interviews of the candidates, Mr. Tracy, chaperones, and other faculty members carefully (and difficultly) selected which students would attend. Two trips will remain in the United States and help out in the domestic sphere; Mr. Hugh McManamon and Ms. Debbie Anderson will lead a trip to “The Big Ugly” in West Virginia, while Mr. Tre Johnson and Ms. Amy Harker will lead a trip to the Navajo Indian reservation in New Mexico. Three trips will go to sites outside of the US’s borders. Mr. Andy and Mrs. Sharon Bramante will lead several Ignatians to Mexico, where their primary goal will be to construct a house. Mr. Jodie Bowers and Mrs. Cheryl Miller will take nine Ignatians to Honduras, and finally, the seasoned veteran of Mission Trips, Mr. William Kelley, and his counterpart Father Guiao (back from a year’s break) will lead eight students to Duran, Ecuador. As these students sacrifice their summer to service, please remember to keep them in your prayers.
