Mrs. Steadman’s Departure is St. Ignatius’s Loss, Atlanta’s Gain
By Matt Fanous

Saint Ignatius was recently hit with devastating news: Mrs. Eileen Steadman will not return next year. She is relocating to sunny Atlanta, Georgia, where she already has many teaching options available to her.
Mrs. Steadman, a mathematics department mainstay for many years, works hard to educate a plethora of young minds. She currently teaches Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Honors Analysis, and Advanced Placement Calculus AB. This demanding curriculum is no sweat for such an assiduous teacher. Her thorough “quizzes” rouse fear in students. Also, she is one of the few teachers known to begin a new chapter with only a few minutes left in class. Despite these things, Mrs. Steadman is well liked by her students. She is available during her free periods or after school everyday for help with the day’s lesson. She also congratulates her students daily for athletic accomplishments and often is present at events to cheer them on. Mrs. Steadman is probably best known for her baking abilities. Her delectable “devil dogs” are legendary throughout the school and her students wait all year with anticipation for what Rob Ciofani calls “a little bite of heaven. ”
In addition to being a great teacher, Mrs. Steadman plays a large role outside of the classroom. She is one of the moderators of the ever-popular Midwest-Champion Saint Ignatius Crew team, a role she is very proud of. Junior captain Thomas Paulett, on behalf of the team, said, “She has been wonderfully supportive and a great help in our organization. It has been a pleasure having her as our moderator.”
Mrs. Steadman has been a great asset to the Saint Ignatius community and we are all sad to see her go. Best of luck to her in “Hotlana”.
